Gas prices in Iowa have been on a downward trend in recent days.
According to the Triple A Iowa website, the average price for a gallon of unleaded statewide is currently $3.13, which is down about seven cents in the last week, and down approximately 22 cents in the last month. The average price in Buena Vista County is $3.20. One year ago, a gallon of unleaded in Iowa was averaging close to $3.40. The national average is currently $3.36.
Diesel in Iowa is currently averaging about $4.00 a gallon, a decrease of around six cents in the last week, and down more than 30 cents from a month ago. A year ago, diesel in Iowa was averaging nearly $3.80 a gallon.
