A gas leak forced some residents in Spencer to evacuate their homes.
According to the Spencer Fire Department, an excavation crew struck an underground natural gas line in the 300 block of West 7th Street at approximately 12:30pm Wednesday. A nearby health center was also evacuated.
A Black Hills Energy crew reportedly stopped the leak. Residents were able to return to their homes after 6pm.
