The ongoing drought continues to impact Iowa crop conditions.
According to this week’s report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 73-percent of corn is in good to excellent condition, down three-percent from the previous week.
71-percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent, a two-percent drop from the week before.
In northwest Iowa, where drought conditions are the worst in the state, 60-percent of topsoil is either short or very short of moisture, compared to 69-percent the prior week.
There were 6.1 days suitable for fieldwork last week in northwest Iowa, and statewide.
