City of Storm Lake Extends Snow Emergency

The City of Storm Lake is extending a Snow Emergency, effective at 10pm tonight (Thur) running through Sunday at 6am.

During a Snow Emergency, parking is not allowed on streets in residential areas of Storm Lake between 10pm and 6am. Parking is not allowed on streets in the Central Business District between 2am and 6am. Parking is not allowed in downtown public parking lots designated as Lot B and Lot D.

Overnight parking during a snow emergency IS allowed in downtown public parking lots A and C.

Vehicles found to be in violation of the City’s snow policy may be ticketed and/or towed. Additional information is at www.213snow.com.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 6pm tonight (Thur) until 6pm Friday for counties including Buena Vista, Cherokee, and Ida. Between two and five inches of snow is expected.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 9pm tonight (Thur) until 6pm Friday for counties including Sac, Calhoun, and Pocahontas. These counties could receive higher amounts of snow, especially Sac and Calhoun.
