City Council Approves King’s Pointe-Related Items Including Outdoor Water Park and Golf Fees; Rentals Agreement Continuing With Upgrades

The Storm Lake City Council on Monday approved setting fee rates for the King’s Pointe Outdoor Waterpark and the Sunrise Pointe Golf Course.

A family season pass at the King’s Pointe Outdoor Waterpark for the coming season will be 350 dollars. A few different daily punch card options and lap swimming punch card options will also be available. The Spring Fling sale will be April 13th and 14th.

The yearly golf cart rental rate is increasing 25 dollars to 350 dollars. The cart rental fee for nine holes of golf will be 16 dollars, and the fee for 18 holes will be 26 dollars. The season pre-sale is set for this weekend, and the Sunrise Pointe season is set to begin April 1st.

The King’s Pointe Outdoor Waterpark is the city’s municipal pool, and Sunrise Pointe is the municipal golf course, which makes it necessary for the city council to set fees.

The city council also approved another one-year contract with Koloni, Inc to provide kayak, canoe, bike, and other rentals at King’s Pointe Resort.

King’s Pointe general manager Amy Von Bank said this is the 3rd year they’ve partnered with the company. Von Bank said there have been improvements each year, and a restructure is planned this year…

Von Bank said they’re looking at having more smaller-sized bikes available for rent.

Von Bank said the service brought in around 86-hundred dollars in revenue last year. The yearly contract with Kolani is for a little over 45-thousand dollars, which includes all equipment and services.
