Calhoun County Fuel Retailer Receiving RFIP Grant

A convenience store in Calhoun County is one of 23 fuel retailers in 16 Iowa counties have been awarded over 1.1-million dollars in cost-share grants from the Iowa Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program for their latest application cycle.

The Country Store at 730 West High Street in Rockwell City is receiving a 50-thousand dollar RFIP grant. The Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program helps fuel retailers provide higher blends of lower cost Iowa grown biofuels to consumers by providing incentives for the installation, replacement, and conversion of ethanol and biodiesel dispensing and storage infrastructure. Incentives to upgrade biodiesel terminal and storage facilities are also available.

The program is managed by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. The quarterly grant allocations are determined by a board that’s appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Iowa Senate.
