Apartment-Style Housing Complex Approved for BVU

Buena Vista University will soon be getting a new apartment-style housing building.

The BVU Board of Trustees approved construction of a 185-bed complex at their meeting last month. BVU President Brian Lenzmeier is excited for the project, and what it will mean for students…(audio clip below)

The new four-story apartment building will offer three different fully furnished room styles, with studio options included. All of the units will have individual temperature-controls, kitchenettes, private bedrooms, and private bathrooms. There will be amenity spaces which will include open and private social lounges, study spaces, meeting rooms, laundry facilities, an outdoor courtyard, and a workout center.

Construction is set to begin on the BVU campus this summer. McCorkle and Smith Halls will be demolished to make way for the new apartments, and a new green space. The new complex is slated to open in the autumn of 2025. The project is part of a ten-year strategic vision, which includes facility upgrades for BVU athletics, along with other continuous campus improvements.
