The Buena Vista County Board of Supervisors this (Tues) morning tabled the transfer agreement to move the Storm Lake Marina under county ownership.
The state currently owns the marina, and the Supervisors opted to table the agreement to get more information and answers from the Department of Natural Resources. The state reportedly made some changes to the agreement which local officials were unaware of.
At a public meeting in Storm Lake last week, marina subcommittee spokesperson Jennifer Felton said the state wanted to retain the fishery/jetty area and the beach. The remaining 16.5 acres of the property were expected to be deeded to the county.
