Arthur Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Child Pornography Charges

An Arthur man has pleaded guilty in federal court to receiving child pornography. Thirty-two-year-old Wesley Ham entered the plea last Wednesday, August 20, in Sioux City.

Federal prosecutors say Ham received and possessed illicit material between March 2022 and September 2023. A forensic review of his devices uncovered hundreds of images and videos, some involving infants and extreme content. Ham admitted to receiving and possessing the material, though not distributing it in this case. He previously admitted to distribution in a separate state case in 2022.

Ham remains in U.S. Marshal custody while a presentence report is prepared. He faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison, with a maximum sentence of 20 years, a $250,000 fine, and supervised release.

The case was investigated by the Iowa DCI and the Ida County Sheriff’s Office, as part of Project Safe Childhood.
