Tornadoes Split At Spirit Lake

The Storm Lake softball team improved to 4-0 on the year with a 8-0 win at Spirit Lake in their Lakes Conference opener. Winning pitcher Avery DeHaan allowed only two hits while striking out seven batters. Storm Lake had eleven hits with DeHaan picking up three and driving in three runs. Cole Richardson and Abby Bodholdt had two hits each. The Tornadoes, who play seven games this week, host Webster City Tuesday evening.

The Tornado baseball team fell behind 10-1 after 4 innings and ended up losing to Spirit Lake 10-7. Rylan Richardson went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI’s in the loss and David Gonzales-Santos cruched a 3-run homer. The Tornadoes host Webster City Tuesday.
