Tornadoes Pick Up Win Over Titans

Garbieno Weno scored a career high 20 points and Cam Boyd and Trey Boettcher combined for eleven made 3-pointers helping Storm Lake beat South Central Calhoun 78-43 Thursday night at Tornado Fieldhouse.

Boyd ended the game with five made 3-pointers and a game high 27 points, Boettcher knocked down six triples and scored 22 points. The Tornadoes led 42-25 at the break and improve their overall record to 18-2.

Charlie Nattress and Garrett Krause scored 15 points each to lead the Titans. South Central Calhoun, now 11-10, will host East Sac County Monday night in the opening round of the class 2A district tournament.

The Storm Lake boys play again next Tuesday at Sioux City-East with the JV game starting at 5:30pm, the varsity game at 7pm will be broadcast on Mix 101.7 KAYL.
