Tornado Girls Soccer falls on the road to the Knights

The Storm Lake Tornadoes Girls Soccer team fell on the road to the Kuemper Catholic Knights 3-1

The Tornadoes and Knights would open the first ten minutes of the game playing strong defense as neither side could solve the other. That would change when the Knights struck first off Cierra Pudenz’s 5th goal of the season to make it a 1-0 game. Under six minutes later the Knights would strike again with Ashlyn Foley’s 2nd of the season to make it a 2-0 Knights lead. Both teams would again lock down on defense after that which would put the Knights up 2-0 at the halftime break.

The second half would start with a bang for the Tornadoes after a broken play helped spring Jezebel Ocegueda to cut the lead to 2-1 just 19 seconds into the second half. For Ocegueda, her second goal of the season is below as heard on KKIA

However, the Knights would have the answer when Pudenz collected her second of the game (6th of the season) to make it a 3-1 Knights lead. Both teams would have chances in the final 27 minutes but neither would score as the Knights went on to win 3-1.

The win improves the Knights to 3-4, up next the Knights play at Carroll on Monday evening. The Tornadoes after the loss drop to 1-4 and get back in action on Monday night when they host LeMars.
