The Storm Lake Tornado boys soccer team fell to 3A #6 Spencer Tigers 4-1

The Tornadoes opened the scoring when Jose Oropeza found the back of the net at 32:14 for his third goal of the season. The Tornadoes would hold a 1-0 lead for another seven minutes before the Tigers would strike. The Tigers would see Owen Olson score his first of the game at 25:12 to tie the game at 1 all. The Tigers would collect a late tally when Iain MacRae went top-shelf for his 6th goal of the year to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead. The Tigers would take that 2-1 lead into the halftime break.

The second half saw the Tigers and Tornadoes go toe-to-toe for the first 25 minutes of the second half. The Tigers would draw a PK at 29:15, and Olson would bounce the shot off the post to keep the game 2-1. Olson would tally another goal at 15:07 to collect his 28th of the season to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead. The Tigers would add one more Olson tally with 11:03 to go in the match to go up 4-1. For Olson, it was goal number 29 of the season. The Tigers would go on to win 4-1.

The Tigers wrap up the regular season with a record of 12-1, and the Tornadoes fall to 6-7 and play at Sioux Center on Friday

Both teams play in the same postseason region, with the Tornadoes opening up play next Tuesday hosting LeMars (Game broadcast on KAYL), the Tigers await the winner of that game and will host them on Monday, May 22nd
