Tornado Baseball Team Defeats ELC

Jake Eddie pitched a complete game striking out eleven and Aiden Phillips went 2-for-3 with 4RBI and the Storm Lake baseball team defeated E-L-C 5-2 Wednesday night in Storm Lake.

Eddie allowed 2 runs on five hits and improved to 3-2 on the year. Phillips delivered a 2-run single in the 2nd inning scoring Hunter DeMey and Brody Boeckman and that gave the Tornadoes a 2-1 lead. Then in the 4th inning Phillips hit a 2-run double off the left center field fence putting Storm Lake in front 4-1. He would then cross home plate on a ground ball out off the bat of Allen White and that was more than enough for Eddie who threw only 93 pitches in the game.

With the win Storm Lake is now 16-4 and 3-1 in the Lakes Conference. E-L-C falls to 13-5 and is also 3-1 in the Lakes. Click below to hear from coach Michael Knapp along with Eddie, Phillips, and Boeckman.

Storm Lake will play again at home Friday night vs. Spencer. The game will be video streamed at stormlakeradio.com and broadcast locally on 92.9FM KKIA
