Rylan Richardson went 6 1/3 innings on the hill allowing just two hits and the Storm Lake baseball team beat Emmetsburg 5-0 Thursday night in Storm Lake.
Richardson struck out four and walked four and was in complete control the entire game. Trey Boettcher pitched the final 2/3 of an inning allowing one hit.
Storm Lake had eight hits in the game with Boettcher picking up a pair and driving in a run. The Tornadoes plated a pair of runs in the 3rd inning thanks to a Boettcher base hit and an RBI sacrifice fly by Brock Edwards.
In the 5th inning Storm Lake scored three runs after there were two outs. Carson Taylor picked up an RBI with a single and Drew Hogrefe delivered a two-run single to right field.
The Tornadoes are now 1-1 and will host Newell-Fonda Tuesday, May 26th. The E-Hawks fall to 1-2. Click below to hear from Storm Lake head coach Michael Knapp along with Richardson and Boettcher.
