It was the Lakes Conference opener for both teams Friday night at Tornado Fieldhouse. The Storm Lake boys scored 57 first half points and beat the Indians 79-44. Jaidyn Coon scored 21 of his game high 29 points in the first half, Garbieno Weno added 13, and Trey Boettcher scored all ten of his points in the first half. The Tornadoes are now 3-0 overall. The Spirit Lake girls used a 24-1 run in the 2nd half on their way to a 52-32 win over the Tornadoes. Avery DeHaan scored 13 points and Reagan DeHaan scored eight to lead Storm Lake in scoring. The Tornadoes are now 2-3 overall. Click below to hear from coach Nate Reichter.
