Maddy Raveling hit a 3-run homer in the 1st inning and the Storm Lake softball team went on to defeat MOC-Floyd Valley 12-6 Tuesday night at Storm Lake. The Tornadoes had 13 hits in the game with Cole Richardson going 3-for-4 and Raveling picking up two hits and 4 RBI. Avery DeHaan pitched all seven innings giving up ten hits and striking out seven.
The Tornadoes are now 22-5 and will play Wednesday at Emmetsburg.
The Storm Lake baseball team lost to Fort Dodge 7-2. Charlie Dvergsten pitched 5 2/3 and allowed seven runs (six earned) he struck out ten and walked one. David Gonzales Santos had two of the Tornadoes eight hits including a two-run single in the bottom of the 7th inning.
The Tornadoes are now 8-10 on the year and have a make up game Wednesday at Ridge View. The varsity game will be broadcast on 92.9FM KKIA starting at 7:30pm.
