–The Pocahontas Area Indian basketball team swept past the Storm Lake Saint Mary’s Panthers with the PAC Girls winning 76-10 and the PAC Boys winning 92-15
–The girls game saw the teams get out to a 2-2 tie. The Indians rolled the rest of the quarter outscoring the Panthers 26-3 run to lead 28-5 after one. The Indians would keep rolling with 27 points in the second quarter to lead 55-8 at the half en route to the 76-10 win.
The win improves the Indians to a record 9-6, and the Panthers fall to 1-13. The Indians were led in scoring by Jenna Vonnahme with 13 points (Player of the Game), Halle Hauswirth added 11 points, and Madison Vial with 10 points. Isabel Landgraf led the Panthers with 5 points, and Dani Young added 3 points. Up next the Panthers play Saturday vs Ar-We-Va and up next the Indians play next Tuesday vs East Sac County.

–The boys game saw the Indians jump to a 10-0 lead and never look back. The Indians would roll the rest of the half with a 53-12 run to lead at the half 63-12. The Indians would roll to a season-high in scoring defeating the Panthers by a score of 92-15.
The win improves the Indians to 2-12 (now a two-game winning streak), and the loss drops the Panthers 0-14. The Indians were led in scoring by Lucas Kopriva with 18 points (Player of the Game), Gabe Ehn with 14 points, Caleb Hubbel with 13 points, and Luke Gerdes with 11 points. The Panthers were led by Jesus Melendez with 6 points, and Avery Fetrow with 5 points. Up next the Panthers play Saturday vs Ar-We-Va and up next the Indians play next Tuesday vs East Sac County.
