The Pocahontas Area Indians defeated the East Sac County Raiders 10-2 in the Region Semi-Final
The first inning saw Caroline Christians sit the Raiders down in order in the top of the first. The Indians would answer in the bottom of the first with an Addie Lawson sacrifice fly that would score Amanda Davis. The Indians took a 1-0 lead into the second inning. Christians would strike out two batters and again sit the Raiders down in order in the second. The game would go to the third with an Indian 1-0 lead after PAC stranded a walk.
The Raiders would tie the game in the third inning with a Kendall Quirk groundout RBI that scored Makenna Steiger. The Indians would break the 1-1 tie in the bottom of the third. During the inning, the Indians would score four runs, off four walks, one hit, and two errors. After three the Indians lead 5-1.
The Raiders would be sat down in order in the fourth. The Indians would tally three more runs off an RBI double from Katie Rierson, and a 2 RBI double from Halee Hauswirth to extend the lead to 8-1. The Raiders would tally one run In the sixth inning, but it would not be enough as the Indians would go on to win 10-2.
The win advances Pocahontas Area to 13-16 and moves to the Region Final Monday night when they will travel to take on 2A #2 Van Meter; East Sac County wraps up their season at 8-15
The “Mark Hansen’s Rex Chevrolet GMC” Player of the Game was Caroline Christians who tossed the complete game win with 4 strikeouts, 1 walk allowed, 1 hit allowed, and 2 runs allowed. The win is her 12th of the season.
