OABCIG and Ridge View split conference showdown

–The OABCIG Falcons and the Ridge View Raptors met on Monday evening, the Ridge View girls would win 53-42 and the OABCIG boys would win 64-54

–The girl’s basketball game saw three ties in the opening quarter as the teams would open up to an 8-8 tie. The teams would continue to go toe-to-toe as the teams would move to a 14-14 tie. The Raptors would end the frame on a 6-0 run to lead 20-14 after one. The Raptors would get an 11-point lead at 29-18 before the Falcons cut the lead to 30-21 at halftime. The Falcons would chip into the Raptors lead with a 14-10 effort in the third to trail 40-35 after 3. That would be as close as the Falcons would get as the Raptors would go on to win 53-42.

The win improved the Raptors to 4-7 and the loss dropped the Falcons to 1-10. Zoey Aschinger (Player of the Game) would lead the Raptors with 19 points, Claire Wandry and Madison Stowater would get 10 points each—Brady Youngren with 11 points, and Karter Hemer with 9 points.

–The opening quarter saw the Raptors jump out to a 6-3 lead. The Falcons would answer with an 11-2 run to lead 14-8. The Raptors would close out the quarter and would trail 14-12. The teams would go to the halftime break tied at 30 after seeing two ties in the frame. The Falcons would come flying out of the third quarter from beyond the arc. The Falcons would knock down five three-pointers in the quarter and would outscore the Raptors 23-6 to lead 53-36 after three. The Raptors would fight back with a 17-8 run to trail 61-53, but the Falcons would go on to win 64-54.

The win improved the Falcons to 5-5, and the Ridge View fell to 606 after the loss. The Falcons were led in scoring by Kade Spotts (Player of the Game) with 21 points, Anthony Newquist with 15, Brysen Kolar with 12, and Ethan Behrendsen with 10. The Raptors were led in scoring by Carter Todd with 14 points, and Cayden Clausen with 11 points.
