DeHaan Throws Shutout ; Raveling Homers in Storm Lake Softball Win

The pitching of Avery DeHaan, and a two-run homerun by Maddy Raveling lifted the Storm Lake softball team to a 2-0 win over LeMars this (Fri) evening.

Raveling’s homer was in the 3rd inning after MacKenzie Harder hit a one-out double.

DeHaan threw hitless ball through the first four innings. The Bulldogs threatened in the 6th inning with back to back one-out singles, but DeHaan struck out the next two batters. LeMars loaded the bases with two outs in the 7th, but Avery got Maggie Allen to flyout to left.

DeHaan threw a four-hitter with five strikeouts. Storm Lake had six hits against LeMars pitcher Lizzie Koonce, who also struck out five.

Storm Lake is now 3-3, as they snapped LeMars five-game winning streak. The Bulldogs drop to 10-2.

Storm Lake is scheduled to host an invitational tomorrow (Sat). They’ll start the day by playing Harris Lake Park at 9am.
