Addison Klosterbuer scored a game high 20 points and Desta Hoogendoorn added 19 helping Central Lyon beat Pocahontas Area 65-44 in a class 2A semi-final game Friday afternoon at the girls state basketball tournament in Des Moines.
After a low scoring first half in which the Lions built a 24-18 lead they would extend thatlead to 42-31 after three quarters and from there they ran away from the Indians and ran their way into the 2A championship game Saturday night in what will be a rematch of last years 2A title game that was won by Dike-New Hartford. Dike-New Hartford won their semi-final game 61-56 over Sibley-Ocheyedan.
Pocahontas Area shot just 26-percent for the game while Central Lyon shot 47 percent and they were plus 14 in rebounds. Akaysa Duitscher led the Indians with 12 points and they finish the year with a record of 21-5.
