East Sac County Raider soccer teams swept by the Humboldt Wildcats

The East Sac County Raider soccer teams fell to the Humboldt Wildcats, with the girls falling 3-0 and the boys dropping the match against 3A #5 Humboldt 9-0

The East Sac County girls soccer team fell to the Humboldt Wildcats 3-0. The Wildcats would connect in the first 7 minutes to take a 1-0 lead with 32:26 to go. The Raiders would score an own goal as they attempted to clear a crossing attempt at the 18:59 mark, to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead. The Wildcats would close out the half by scoring one more goal with 7:56 when Tielyr Smith connected on her 3rd goal of the season. The Wildcats lead 3-0 at the half. The second half saw the Raiders give a strong push but could not find the back of the net. On the defensive side, they would not allow the Wildcats to score, as the game would conclude with a 3-0 Wildcat win. The Wildcats improved to 8-6, and the Raiders fell to 4-8.

The East Sac County Raider boys soccer team fell 9-0 to the 3A #5 Humboldt Wildcats. The Wildcats would find the back of the net in the first five minutes of the match to lead 1-0. The Raiders would see misfortune appear when a defensive play saw the Raiders kick the ball past Luke Wernimont for an own goal that saw the Wildcat lead go to 2-0. Over the next nine minutes, the Wildcats would extend their lead to 5-0, with three goals over those nine minutes. The Wildcats would get their final goal of the half with just under eight minutes to go in the half, and went to the halftime break up 6-0. The Wildcats would again open the second half by scoring in the first five minutes of the half to lead 7-0. The Raider defense would lock-down in the second half allowing only two goals in the final 35 minutes (1 in the final 30 minutes), as the Wildcats went on to win 9-0. The 3A #5 Wildcats improved to 12-1 while the Raiders fell to 3-9

Both East Sac County soccer teams will be in action Friday night as they travel to Greene County, as the broadcast will be on KKIA. The girls game is slated for a 5:30 pm start with the boys game to follow
