The Iowa Football Coaches Association has introduced the Cooper DeJean Trophy which honors the best player in high school football across the state of Iowa highlighting three core pillars: performance, character, and passion.
The inaugural trophy ceremony will be held Sunday, Apirl 12th in Ankeny.
At this special event, all seven IFCA player captains, one from each class across Iowa High School Football, will be honored for their excellence in performance, character, and passion for the game.
At the conclusion of Sunday’s program, one player will be awarded the “DeJean Trophy” recognizing the overall IFCA Player of the Year for 2025. DeJean will be on hand to present the trophy himself.
The seven captains are:
Reece Rettig-Iowa City Liberty
Caden Klein- Newton
Austin Waldera-Nevada
Brock Badding-Kuemper Catholic
Judd Jirovsky-Grundy Center
Korben Michels-Saint Ansgar
Tate Foertsch-Bishop Garrigan
