The Storm Lake boys golf team placed 4th at a 3A sectional tournament played Wednesday at Emerald Hills. The Tornadoes shot 339. Trey Boettcher was medalist with a 74 (winning a playoff) and Charlie Dvergsten carded an 80 as their scores were good enough to advance to the district tournament Monday at Landsmeer golf course in Orange City. Other scores for Storm Lake were Bobby Boeckman 89, Carson Taylor 90, Cam Boyd 92, and Jayden Butler 93.
The Newell-Fonda boys team won their 1A sectional at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge. The Mustangs shot a 333 with Guyson Lyman leading the way with an 82. Jacksyn Hogrefe 83, Landen Kruse and Carter Emerick both shot 84, and Ian Harrer and Kellen Meyer both shot 86. The Mustangs will now play in a district tournament Monday at Le Mars.
Alta-Aurelia shot a 341 at that sectional. For the Warriors, Lucas Baker 80, Braden Aronson 85, Maddux McCoy 86, Eli Rieb 90, Austin Droegmiller 91, and Parker Cargin 95.
The Ridge View boys team won their 2A sectional played at Holstein shooting a 315. Ty Clausen was runner up medalist with a 76, Gavin Vohs 78, Drew Burk 80, Robert Forristal 81, Luke Whitmer 82, and Kellen Clausen 83. The Raptors will now play in a district tournament Mnday at Rice Lake Country Club. Pocahontas Area shot a 365 and Sioux Central a 402.
The South Central Calhoun golf team placed 2nd at a 2A sectional played Wednesday at the Sac Country Club. The Titans shot a 316 and will now play in a district tournament Monday at Carroll.
