Alta-Aurelia boys basketball falls in District Semi-Final at #8 North Union

1A #8 North Union Warriors defeated the Alta-Aurelia Warriors 58-39 in the District Semi-Final

The opening quarter saw Alta-Aurelia strike first to lead 2-0, the during the quarter four different ties happened the last at 9-9. The teams would continue to see-saw until North Union scored a buzzer-beating bucket to lead 14-10 after one. North Union would push the lead to 19-12 before Alta-Aurelia would again cut the lead to 19-16 forcing a North Union timeout. The three-point margin would be as close as Alta-Aurelia would get in the first half as North Union took a 30-21 lead into the halftime break. Alta-Aurelia would get as close as seven in the third quarter but no closer as North Union went on to win 58-39.

The loss ended Alta-Aurelia’s season at 12-11, and Alta-Aurelia said goodbye to five seniors (Mason Barnes, Cameron Stites, Jack Bloom, Ayden Dullea, and Isaiah Segovia); and the win improved #8 North Union to 20-3 they advance to play Saint Edmond on Tuesday night

Alta-Aurelia was led in scoring by Ayden Dullea with 16 points, Jack Bloom had 11, and Adam Stephan added 8.
