2A #9 Raptors fall in Region Final vs 2A #6 Knights 3-0

Class 2A #9 Ridge View Raptors fell to the Class 2A #6 Kuemper Catholic Knights in Denison 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-22)

The first set saw the Raptors come flying out of the gate. After three ties early, the Raptors would open up a 13-4 lead. That run would force the Knights to call an early timeout. The Knights would cut the lead to one with a 14-6 run to trail 19-18. The Raptors would extend their lead to 20-19. The Knights would get a key service ace and go on to win the first set 25-22

The second set saw the Knights keep things rolling from the opening set. The Knights would jump out to an 8-3 lead forcing the Raptors to use a timeout. The Raptors would get the first couple points out of the timeout but the Knights would maintain the lead later in the set 19-14. The Raptors would get as close as 23-19 but the Knights would prevail 25-19.

The third set was very similar to the opening set. The team would see six ties early as the score would be tied 10-10. The teams would keep playing point for point as the game would be knotted up late at 20-20. The Knights would score three in a row to lead 23-20. The Raptors would cut the lead to 23-22, but the Knights would hang on to win set three 25-22.

With the win the Knights advance to the 2A State Tournament for the second straight season with a record 34-6 as a six-seed, the Raptors wrap up the season with a record of 34-9 with their season ending in a Region Final for the third straight season

The Raptors say goodbye to seven seniors: Taya Phillips, Madison Stowater, Rowan Jensen, Jaycie Vohs, Jayley Endrulat, Delainey Hansen, and Shae Dutler.
