In the Class 2A Region 2 Final played in rainy Missouri Valley, Iowa the hometown Lady Reds ranked #8 in Class 2A defeated the 2A #11 Sioux Central Rebels 8-4
In the first inning, the Rebels would strand a Kendra Casey double. The bottom of the first saw the Lady Reds strike. The first four Lady Red batters would reach base and the Lady Reds would capitalize on 4 walks. The Lady Reds would see Emerson Anderson hit a 2 RBI single and Mayra Contreraz hit an RBI single to give the Lady Reds a 5-0 lead after one. After the Rebels went scoreless in the top of the second the Lady Reds would again add to their lead. Once again Anderson would hit an RBI single to give the Lady Reds a 6-0 lead.
The top of the third would see the Rebels strand two runners on base. The Lady Reds would again add to their lead in the bottom of the third. The Lady Reds saw Audrie Kohl knock in an RBI single and a Rebels error made the score 8-0 after three. The Rebels would cut into the lead with RBI hits from Avery Wilson and Natalie Laursen to cut the lead to 8-2 after four innings. The Rebels would again cut the lead in the top of the fifth when Kendra Casey hit a two-run home run (her fifth of the season) to cut the lead to 8-4 after the fifth inning. The Rebels would get runners on in both the sixth and seventh innings but could not score as the Lady Reds would go on to win 8-4.
The win advances 2A #8 Missouri Valley into the Class 2A State Tournament for the first time since 2010 with a record of 29-3; 2A #11 Sioux Central Rebels wrap up the season with a record of 26-6

The “Mark Hansen’s Rex Chevrolet and GMC” players of the game were the five seniors who the Rebels say goodbye to: Brynn Webber, Berkley Johannsen, Halle Laursen, Kendra Casey, and Erin Daley.
