Rita I. Schmidt, age 75, of Laurens, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.  

Funeral Service is 10:30 AM, Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the United Methodist Church in Laurens, Iowa, with Pastor Deb Parkison officiating.  

Burial will be at Laurens Cemetery near Laurens, Iowa.

Visitation is from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, Thursday, at the church in  Laurens.
