The city of Storm Lake will soon be starting its annual audit process, an independent audit conducted by Winther Stave and Company certified accountants. This process, which will begin in August, is mandated by the U.S. Comptroller General’s office.
The service provides an independent, objective assessment of how the city manages, uses and safeguards public resources. It also assures the City is complying with applicable laws, regulations and more. The public will have the chance to see the audit results when the report is completed and presented to the Storm Lake City Council. The audit will examine finances for the past fiscal year, ending on June 30.
