A Storm Lake man was killed this morning (Sunday, June 21, 2026) in a single‑vehicle rollover southeast of Marathon.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 58‑year‑old Andrew Lincoln of Storm Lake was driving east on 480th Street at around 9:10 a.m. when his SUV left the roadway near the intersection of 480th Street and County Highway M54 between Marathon and Albert City. The vehicle entered the south ditch and rolled several times before coming to rest on its driver’s side in a cornfield.
Lincoln, who was the only occupant, was wearing a seat belt but died at the scene.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office and Albert City Fire and Rescue. The incident remains under investigation.
