A Storm Lake man has been arrested on a sexual assault charge.
This past Friday around noon, the Storm Lake Police Department was reportedly notified of a belated assault incident that occurred at a local residence. Police subsequently launched an investigation in conjunction with the Storm Lake Police Department Sexual Assault Response Team and the Iowa Department of Human Services.
Following an investigation, police allege that a victim reported being assaulted last Monday, November 28th at a Storm Lake residence by 62-year-old David Vidal Sanchez of Storm Lake. Vidal Sanchez allegedly held the victim down by their arms and attempted sexual contact against their will. The victim allegedly sustained minor arm injuries from the incident.
Vidal Sanchez was taken into custody without incident on Friday. He was charged with Assault With Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse Causing Bodily Injury, a class D felony…and Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a serious misdemeanor. Vidal Sanchez was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail, and held without bond.
The Storm Lake Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Iowa Department of Human Services.
