Storm Lake Man Accused of Sexually Abusing Young Girl

A Storm Lake man is in jail for allegedly sexually abusing a young girl on multiple occasions.

Back in March, the Storm Lake Police Department received a belated report of sexual abuse of a female child under the age of 14. The alleged incidents occurred at a Storm Lake residence. Following an investigation, police allege that a man identified as 60-year-old Salvador Saldana-Jimenez had inappropriate sexual contact with the juvenile on at least two occasions within the last five years.

Earlier in October, police obtained an arrest warrant for Saldana-Jimenez, who surrendered himself at the Storm Lake Police station on Sunday. He was taken into custody on the Buena Vista County warrant charging him with two counts of Lascivious Acts with a Child, a class D felony. Saldana-Jimenez was booked into the BV County Jail on a ten-thousand dollar bond.

The Storm Lake Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office and the Iowa Department of Human Services.
