Sioux City Man Taken into Custody with Over 400 Pills on Him

The Sioux City Police Department found themselves chasing a Black Nissan Rogue at around 12:30 am on Thursday. The police were after 23-year-old, Benito Miguel Curiel, the driver of the vehicle. Curiel had warrants out for his arrest. According to Sioux City Police, the pursuit began in South Sioux before it went over the Veterans Memorial Bridge into Sioux City.

The Nissan Rogue eventually came to a halt after driving through a yard, where it was stuck in an embankment. Curiel was taken into custody and upon search, the Sioux City Police Department found 434 fentanyl pills in his pocket.

Curiel was charged with possession of a controlled substance, failure to affix a drug stamp, felony eluding, no driver’s license, interference with official acts, failure to obey a traffic control device, operating without registration, and driving on defective tires.
