A Rembrandt man is facing multiple charges following an incident in Storm Lake late Friday night.
At approximately 9:50 p.m. on July 25th, Storm Lake Police responded to a residence on Renshaw Drive for a reported violation of a no-contact order. Upon arrival, officers learned that 40-year-old Gonzalo Ornelas Flores had allegedly confronted the protected party, refused to leave when asked, and physically assaulted the victim by pulling them outside and grabbing their neck, causing injury.
Police say Ornelas Flores fled the scene but later surrendered at the Buena Vista County Jail, where he was taken into custody without incident. He was booked on charges including Assault β Protection Order (a Class D felony), Domestic Abuse Assault β 2nd Offense (a serious misdemeanor), and Violation of a No Contact Order (a simple misdemeanor).
Ornelas Flores is being held without bond.
