MMC-RU School District Given STEM Grant

An area school district has been awarded a STEM grant.

The Marcus Meriden Cleghorn Remsen Union district was given a 40-thousand dollar grant from STEM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The grant, announced recently by Governor Reynolds, will expand opportunities for students who already take part in the district’s industrial classroom. The STEM program is designed to connect area employers with MMC-RU to create young adults who are ready for the workforce upon graduation.

The school district will use the STEM grant to obtain more equipment. MMC-RU is planning on an industrial expansion starting in two years.
