A workshop will be held next month in Storm Lake to help farmers better manage 2023 farm margins.
Iowa Farm Bureau and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach are hosting “Managing 2023 Farm Margins” workshops across the state. One of the workshops will be held on Tuesday, February 7th from 10am to 3pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Storm Lake. During the workshop, attendees will learn strategies to protect working capital and how to diversify their income. Ag lenders will be on hand to give insights into what an optimal client-lender relationship looks like, and how lenders can assist in farm business decisions. The workshop will also include a simulation to show farmers the carbon programs currently in the market, and what the net return would look like over the life of the contract.
