Lift Station Work On Track Despite Weather, Supply Hurdles

Storm Lake officials provided updates Monday night on an ongoing city lift station project.

City Manager Keri Navratil addressed one of the most common questions from residents—when West Third Street and College Avenue will reopen.

Concrete patching is scheduled for early next week, with traffic expected to resume mid-to-late week, depending on weather conditions.

Navratil also explained how wet soil has impacted construction schedules for the infrastructure project that is replacing an aging sewer lift station.

She added that purchasing dry soil may be considered in the future if wet weather conditions don’t improve, and equipment delays have also been a factor.

Navratil noted that the project remains on schedule.
