Iowa Central Community College Storm Lake Project Among Recipients of Empower Rural Iowa Grants

A few local initiatives have been awarded grants through the Empower Rural Iowa Grant Programs.

Iowa Central Community College has been awarded a 20-thousand dollar Rural Scale Up Grant to go toward a new regional center in Storm Lake. The center will enhance learning capabilities, provide equitable access to high-quality career technical educational programming, and help close opportunity gaps in the region.

The City of Rolfe has been awarded a 20-thousand dollar Rural Enrichment Grant to go toward the Rolfe Trail Connector Project, which is designed to extend the existing Three Rivers Regional Trail System.

The Sioux Valley Hospital Association of Cherokee County is getting a ten-thousand dollar Rural Child Care Market Study Grant.

The grants, which total over 450-thousand dollars, were announced today (Thur) by Governor Kim Reynolds and the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
