The Clay County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a motorcyclist that he had lost control of his motorcycle and possibly broke his leg on Tuesday, July 8. Deputies responded to the 4800 mile of 330th Avenue at 7:25 p.m. and located 34-year-old Lucas Olson of Emmetsburg on the side of the road with a leg injury.
Olson was driving a red 2024 Honda CRF1000 motorcycle north in the 4800 mile of 330th Avenue when he lost control on the muddy gravel road and entered the east ditch, causing the motorcycle to flip and come to rest on its side facing south in the ditch.
Olson was able to crawl to the road and contact 911. He was transported to the Spencer Municipal Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The motorcycle was privately towed and sustained heavy damage. No charges were filed. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Webb Fire and Rescue, Dickens Fire and Rescue, and the Spencer Municipal Hospital Ambulance.
