The 2025 Clay County Fair wrapped up its nine-day run on Sunday with strong attendance and standout participation across youth programs, exhibits, and entertainment.
Fair officials report an estimated 316,000 visitors filled the fairgrounds this year, with final attendance numbers still pending. Grandstand shows drew more than 15,000 fans, with top draws including comedian Jeff Dunham, All-Star Monster Trucks, and Bulls & Broncs.
Youth involvement remained a cornerstone of the fair’s mission. A total of 774 4-H and FFA exhibitors from 53 counties across Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota showcased their work in livestock and human sciences. Meanwhile, over 1,100 elementary students took part in hands-on learning through AgCiting and SciCiting field trips, coordinated by ISU Extension and Outreach.
Vendor and exhibitor participation also hit high marks. The fair hosted 457 commercial exhibitors from 36 states, including 150 focused on agriculture—reinforcing its status as the largest farm machinery show at any fair in the country. Open-class competitions saw 1,248 exhibitors submit more than 10,000 entries.
Fair CEO Jason Brockshus praised the dedication of exhibitors and the energy of fairgoers, calling this year’s event “a truly memorable celebration of community and talent.”
The Clay County Fair extends its thanks to all who made the 2025 Fair possible and looks forward to welcoming even more visitors next September.
