City Council Approves Memorial to Honor Gary Lalone

The Storm Lake City Council on Monday approved a request from the Storm Lake Preservation Association to install a memorial in recognition of the late Gary Lalone.

City Manager Keri Navratil was contacted by the Lake Preservation Association last week about their plan…(audio clip below)

Lalone passed away in August of last year. He is a former president of the Lake Preservation Association. Council member Kevin McKinney said having a monument is only fitting for everything Lalone did for the Association.

Navratil said she hasn’t seen a drawing or mark-up of the monument, which will be paid for by the Association. The council ok’d the memorial, but would like to see the design before it’s constructed.
