Carlin Calls for Major Federal Reforms at Storm Lake GOP Forum

Northwest Iowa voters heard a far different kind of pitch Saturday night when U.S. Senate candidate Jim Carlin took the stage in Storm Lake, arguing that Washington is drifting away from the values and economic realities of everyday Iowans.

Carlin closed the Buena Vista County Republicans-sponsored GOP Forum at Buena Vista University, speaking after two hours of gubernatorial remarks.

Carlin told the crowd he believes many Iowans no longer feel represented at the federal level.

He shared personal stories from his legal career and legislative work, including efforts on veterans’ issues, medical freedom, and human trafficking.

Carlin also criticized federal deficits and called for an audit of the Federal Reserve.

On immigration, he said the U.S. must secure the border while also improving the legal immigration process.

Carlin argued that corporate influence and market consolidation are harming consumers, farmers, and the middle class, and said he would focus on restoring free‑market competition and protecting the value of the U.S. dollar.

He closed by urging voters to stay engaged in the primary process, saying strong turnout will be essential heading into the November election.
