The Buena Vista County Suicide Prevention Coalition is hosting its second annual “Stronger Together” event this coming weekend.
The event will be held this Saturday, September 24th from 9am to noon at Chautauqua Park in Storm Lake. The public is invited to take part in the informal 5K run/walk, and visit the resource fair for information on helping services that are available in the community.
The “Stronger Together” event will feature booths, games, ice cream, and an inflatable play area for kids. The Storm Lake Police Department are scheduled to attend with their YumVee vehicle. Chalk will be available for anyone who would like to place a message of hope or memories on the walkways.
There is no charge for the event, but free-will donations will help the BV Suicide Prevention Coalition’s prevention and awareness efforts, as well as help provide caring baskets to survivors of suicide loss.
