Storm Lake Police have arrested a woman in connection with a theft at a local motel.
Authorities were called to the Super 8 on West Milwaukee Avenue Sunday afternoon, where a guest reported personal property missing from their room. Police launched an investigation and recovered the stolen items—valued at roughly $3,500—near the scene.
Officers arrested 71-year-old Dawn James of Alta, who was taken into custody at the motel. James was charged with Second Degree Theft, a Class D felony, and transported to the Buena Vista County Jail. Bond was set at $5,000.
