Victim Hospitalized After Storm Lake Assault

Storm Lake police have arrested a local man in connection with an early morning assault that left one person seriously injured. Officers were called to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center around 5:20 a.m. Sunday, where a victim reported being cut in the upper arm during a confrontation on North Ontario Street. The incident occurred around 4 a.m., and the victim fled the scene to seek medical care.

Following an investigation, police identified the suspect as 26-year-old Marco Salcedo Garcia of Storm Lake. He turned himself in Monday and now faces multiple charges, including Assault Causing Serious Injury—a Class D felony—along with Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon and Disorderly Conduct. Salcedo Garcia was booked into custody on a $10,300 bond.
