Three juveniles have received drug and alcohol charges in Clay County.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy pulled over a vehicle for speeding on Saturday in the 25 hundred mile of Highway 18. The deputy allegedly smelled marijuana as he approached the vehicle. A search led to the discovery of marijuana, nicotine, and alcohol.
The 17-year-old driver from Emmetsburg was cited into Magistrate Court for Speeding and Minor in Possession of Tobacco. He was cited into Juvenile Court for Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana.
A 17-year-old from Mallard was cited into Magistrate Court for Minor in Possession of Tobacco, and was cited into Juvenile Court for Minor in Possession of Alcohol.
A 16-year-old from Emmetsburg was cited into Magistrate Court for Minor in Possession of Tobacco, and was cited into Juvenile Court for Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana.
All three teens were released to the custody of a parent or adult family member.
