Storm Lake officials are asking its residents to shelter in place following an overnight storm that brought strong wind activity, heavy rain, and hail.
Several power lines are down with broken poles, and there is a lot of debris in roadways.
According to Buena Vista County Emergency Management, MidAmerican Energy estimates that power won’t be restored until 8pm this (Fri) evening.
Storm Lake residents who rely on powered medical devices should go to the main entrance of the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center if they need their devices recharged.
