A Storm Lake man has been arrested after allegedly using a counterfeit bill at a local convenience store last week.
According to the Storm Lake Police Department, the alleged incident happened at the Casey’s store at 207 East Milwaukee Avenue on Monday, May 19th. The department was notified the following day. The suspect, 39-year-old Berdinant William Jr, was identified through video surveillance. He allegedly entered the store and presented a counterfeit 100 dollar bill to purchase merchandise.
William Jr surrendered himself at the Storm Lake Police Department at approximately 11:30am yesterday (Wed). He’s been charged with Forgery, a class D felony. William Jr was booked in the Buena Vista County Jail on a five thousand dollar bond.
