The Storm Lake Police Department arrested a local man Thursday night following a reported domestic assault.
Authorities say officers were called around 10:15 p.m. to the 300 block of East Seventh Street. Witnesses told police that 25‑year‑old Javier Cisneros of Storm Lake was intoxicated and became involved in an altercation with a victim. During the incident, police allege Cisneros knocked the victim down, grabbed them by the neck, and threatened to kill them.
Cisneros fled the residence but was later located in the 700 block of Cayuga Street, where officers took him into custody without incident.
He now faces multiple charges, including domestic abuse assault by strangulation, a class D felony; first degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor; and public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor.
Cisneros was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and was held without bond.
